As we’ve all seen, a hurricane can devastate a destination. When this happened to neighboring Mexico Beach, PCB was in a unique position to help. Together, we set out to reinvent vacations with a new STAY IT FORWARD package — one destination, two great experiences on and off the boardwalk. After living it up in the sun, take time to help neighboring areas affected by Hurricane Michael.
This “voluntourism” campaign got tons of attention and support within the community, resulting in wide press coverage, locally and nationally, without a hint of paid media. In the words of Raini Hamdi (Editor, Skift Media), “With natural disasters becoming so regular, STAY IT FORWARD campaigns that see tourists helping to rebuild destroyed towns and beaches will be the new norm.”
